Contractors continue to set up approximately 100 light poles around the Centennial Plaza area and will give the area a pleasant glow sometime after the Thanksgiving break. The lights will go up around the plaza, the Geology Green, the Geological Sciences Building, the UTEP Dinner Theatre, Old Main, and along Wiggins Road and Kerbey and University avenues. The environmentally friendly light-emitting diode (LED) lights will make the pathways brighter and safer, while reducing the amount of light pollution and allowing a better view of the stars in the Southwest skies.
