We are doing everything possible to spread UTEP’s Centennial Celebration across the El Paso community and throughout the world. That is why it is so gratifying to learn that fashion designers and trendsetters from New York to Paris have caught UTEP’s vision, making orange the IN color for 2014.
Writing for the New York Times, Bill Cunningham found orange all over Paris, everywhere from buildings to bodies–men’s shirts, women’s shoes, dresses, pants, tights, jackets, handbags.
Orange was likewise everywhere at the recent New York Fashion Week spring preview. So many options for Orange Fridays. Beyond clothing, the Huffington Post, PopSugar, and Maybelline all see orange lips and fingernails next spring, asking “Is orange the new red?” and “Is orange the new black?”
Thank you, world of fashion, for joining the Centennial Celebration!
(And thank you, Rubin Center director Kerry Doyle, for tipping me on these trends).
